Run of show

A minute-by-minute schedule of the show itself, cue by cue.

A run of show is the detailed timeline of the performance itself: walk-in music, house lights, intro, each act's set, speeches, changeovers, encores and house lights up, often with who calls each cue. The day sheet covers the whole day; the run of show zooms in on showtime.

Runs of show matter most at festivals, award shows, corporate events and anything with multiple acts, video or speeches.

Example

"9:13 walk-in music fades · 9:14 house to half · 9:15 intro video (90 sec) · 9:16:30 band on · 10:28 last song · 10:30 encore break · 10:36 encore · 10:45 house lights, walk-out music."

Tips

Share it with FOH, lighting, the stage manager and the venue, and put the hard times (curfew, broadcast windows) in bold.
