Changeover
The time between acts when one band’s gear comes off and the next goes on.
Changeover is the gap between two acts when one band's gear comes off the stage and the next band's goes on, followed by a quick line check. On festival stages and multi-band bills, changeovers are tight and scheduled to the minute.
Common tricks: building drums and amps on rolling risers off stage, sharing a backline kit, pre-labeling cables and keeping the input list identical between shows.
Example
The schedule shows "Opener 8:00 to 8:40 · changeover 20 min · direct support 9:00." The opener's crew strikes in 10 minutes so the next act gets a full line check.
Tips
Ask about changeover length in the advance, especially at festivals, and plan your stage plot so your setup fits inside it.
