Box office
Where tickets are sold and collected, and the ticket-sales report used at settlement.
The box office is where a venue sells and hands out tickets, including will call and guest list pickup. In settlement language, "the box office" also means the ticket report: tickets sold, comps, gross, taxes and fees, and the resulting net.
Example
Box office report: capacity 1,000, paid 845, comps 30, gross $25,350, taxes and fees $3,040, net box office receipts $22,310. That net is where a percentage deal starts. (EXAMPLE numbers.)
Tips
Ask for a ticket count at doors and a final box office statement at settlement, and compare scanned tickets with the report if numbers look off. In TRMNGR, the show settlement's Box Office worksheet holds these numbers.
